The owner makes Shannon the manager of the club, and they begin to form a father-daughter bond. After work, the owner tells Shannon about the family she never knew (on both her mother's and father's sides). This includes a grandfather that was driven mad by Vietnam flashbacks, an aunt that eloped with her boyfriend at age sixteen, but was left at the alter, and a cousin who suffered years of abuse due to his transexuality, and eventually was killed by lung cancer from years of smoking. Shannon fears for her future hearing this, and is haunted by these stories in her nightmares.
