After a few months of living with the owner and performing at his club, Shannon begins to fall in love with the owner. After revealing how she feels, he reveals that he is actually her biological father. Shannon's mother was a groupie for the owner's band, and quickly became his girlfriend. The owner gave up the band when he found out he was going to be a father, and moved in with Shannon's mother. However, the owner kept up a behavior of alcohol and drug abuse. Shannon's mother made him move out and stay away from Shannon. Shannon comes to the conclusion that her father is the true, righteous parent, and her mother is a hypocrite.
